Grown Up Glamour is a community where women can come together to become inspired, empowered and comforted. It’s a community I began in 2015 when a post about my difficult pregnancy went viral on the Huffington Post. In a time where I felt alone and afraid, a dynamic group of women, most of which were strangers, rallied around me and made me feel safe.
This space has quickly branched into a place where women can come together and share real moments with one another. It’s a place to celebrate and overcome the ups and downs of being a wife, a mother and a woman.
It is my hope to inspire, empower and help other women find joy and peace within themselves and their lives.
Growing up, all I ever dreamed of was being a wife, a mother and a writer. I grew up with a stay-at-home mom who set the bar pretty high when it came to taking care of a family. She and my Dad made sacrifices and worked tirelessly to provide my brother and I with a pure and grounded upbringing.
As a result of this upbringing, I was always the good girl. You know the type I’m talking about. I avoided everything and anyone that could get me into trouble. Through my high school years I rebelled in an attempt to shed my good girl persona.
After finally coming to the realization that the secret to happiness was to love myself just the way I am, my world flipped right-side up. It was soon thereafter I met my husband, David at the age of 22. Now, six years later, we share a marriage, a home, a dog and a sweet baby boy (with another little one on the way).
It has long been my goal to help women find their true happiness, rather than lose themselves in a harsh world. Between my son’s naps, snuggling my husband and adventuring with my dog, I’m here – sharing sometimes too much information in an attempt to normalize the seemingly abnormal.
Thanks for getting to know me, I’d love to get to know you! Shoot me an email or share your story with this wonderful community.
